At Sunday night’s awards show, Will took to the stage and “punched” presenter Chris in the face after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.

Jada, who has been married to Will since 1997, has spoken openly about her alopecia diagnosis since 2018. Chris was apparently unaware of the condition when he joked onstage: “Jada, I love you. love… GI Jane 2, can’t wait to see it,” a reference to the film’s main character, who also has a shaved head.

Jada rolled her eyes jokingly, prompting Will to cross the stage and punch Chris in the face. He then stunned the audience into an awkward silence, shouting, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth.”

On Tuesday, Will posted an apology on Instagram. He called his behavior ‘unacceptable and inexcusable’ following tons of fierce criticism and claimed he had ‘reacted emotionally’.

Social media users have remained divided over the Will vs. Chris debate while several celebrities have since chimed in to share their views – the latest being Batman’s lead actress, Zoë Kravitz.

Jumping on Instagram last night, Zoë shared two photos from the momentous night which she captioned with indirect but very shady remarks.

First posting a photo of herself on the Oscars red carpet, Zoë wrote, “Here’s a pic of my dress at the awards show where we’re apparently mugging people on stage now.”

She shared a second photo from the afterparty a few hours later, captioned: ‘and here’s a pic of my dress at the after-show party – where we’re apparently yelling bad words and mugging people on stage now.”

Leaving no room for misinterpretation, Zoë then responded directly to a fan who commented, “You don’t support him defending his wife?” She wrote: “no”.

However, Zoë’s comments quickly sparked backlash after several Twitter users began drawing attention to several “problematic” moments from her past.

Fans first called out Zoë – who has been universally loved on social media in recent months – for her close friendship with designer Alexander Wang, given that he has been accused of sexual harassment and assault by multiple people. .

Alexander initially denied the allegations in a statement shared early last year, calling them “false” and “fabricated”. However, he later expressed his ‘regrets’ for his past behavior in another post months later.

“It was not easy for [the alleged victims] to share their stories, and I regret that I acted in a way that caused them pain,” he wrote in a statement on Instagram. “While we disagree on some details of these personal interactions, I will set a better example and use my visibility and influence to encourage others to recognize harmful behavior.”

In light of the allegations against Alexander, several users condemned Zoë for proudly parading their friendship while criticizing Will for “molesting people.”

One such user tweeted, “Zoe Kravitz is literally friends with Alexander Wang and talking about ‘I guess we’re attacking people on stage now’ doesn’t make me laugh.”

And with several users determined to dig into Zoë’s past, it wasn’t long before her comments from a 2013 interview with V Magazine resurfaced on Twitter.

During the interview, Zoë – who was 24 at the time – made several suggestive remarks about Will Smith’s then 14-year-old son Jaden.

“There were times when I was hanging out with Jaden and I thought, I can’t believe you’re 14, gotta check myself out, like what I’m telling you,” she says.

“He’s got so much personality and so much swag, he’s so much cooler than me. And he’s so handsome, I was always like, when you’re older, you know, we’ll be dating… No, that’s inappropriate, you’re 14,” she says.

Zoë’s comments have now drawn further criticism, with several users calling her out for what they perceive as “predatory” remarks. “[You] tell me zoe kravitz was trying to flirt with a 14 year old jaden smith but tried to diss will smith on instagram,” read one viral tweet, which received more than 130,000 likes.

Soon, another interview resurfaced two years later also began circulating on Twitter, during which Zoë called Jaden her “date” and “the love of my life.”

“Anyway, here’s Zoe Kravitz referring to a 16-year-old Jaden Smith as ‘her date’ [and] ‘love of his life’ and expressing that she ‘loves’ him at his grand age of 26,” one person tweeted.

“How did anyone raise an eyebrow when Zoe Kravitz (26) called Jaden Smith (16) the love of her life / her date? what about the normalization of predatory behavior in Hollywood LIKE NOBODY THINK THAT WAS WEIRD?” wrote another.

Many users agreed that Zoë’s comments about Jaden and known ties to Alexander Wang were inappropriate. However, amidst all the backlash, some have wondered why users are only now choosing to condemn the actor.

As mentioned, Zoë has been a fan-favorite figure on the internet for months, trending often positively. With that in mind, some Twitter users are now expressing their discomfort with people seemingly knowing about her past but choosing not to share the information when she was popular.

“Funny how some people already had information about Zoe Kravitz crawling on a 14 year old boy, but they didn’t say anything then because she was ‘loved’ by everyone,” wrote one. user. “Shows how hypocritical twitter is, you only start feeling bad when it’s a celebrity you don’t like.”

“I’m not trying to defend her at all (I really don’t care about her), but it’s so hypocritical that people have literally been sitting on bad boy information about Zoë Kravitz ALL THIS TIME, but don’t chose to reveal the truth only now. It’s actually comical,” another wrote.
