This includes David Ayerthe 2017 movie Suicide Squad, which starred Will Smith as Deadshot. But would Smith return to DC to reprise his role in a possible sequel? Here is the latest news from the iconic actor.
Will Smith’s Deadshot was one of the protagonists of the original Suicide Squad film, and was a saving grace for the theatrical cut next Harley Quinn by Margot Robbie. He was visibly absent by James Gunn The suicide squad, but fans are still hoping he might return to play Deadshot someday, especially since his role hasn’t been recast. Smith recently opened up about his possible future in the DCEU while also addressing his absence from Gunn’s R-rated movie saying:

Will Smith’s comments come from a recent video he made with GQ on his long and successful career in the public eye. He took to social media to answer questions from fans, including one about his absence at The suicide squad. And DC fans will be delighted to hear that he wants to replay Deadshot in the future. Although when is a complete mystery at this point.
As the cast of The suicide squad was meeting for the first time, rumors immediately began to form when Idris Elba joined the cast, unlike Will Smith. Some thought Elba could play the role of Deadshot, but luckily he introduced a new character to Bloodsport. As Smith himself mentions, this left the door open for him to possibly return to the role in a future DC blockbuster.
