Will Poulter tells us he’s still in shock after being cast as Adam Warlock in the MCU

While telling us about his latest Disney + drama series ‘Dopesick’, the actor also briefly referred to how “lucky” he now felt to be welcomed into the bosom of the ever-expanding MCU.

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Will Poulter will be joining the MCU as superhero Adam Warlock. The cosmic being, who will make his first appearance in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’, is closely associated with the motley team of bounty hunters in the comics, as well as the Fantastic Four.

To date, the 28-year-old actor has enjoyed a steady rise to film stardom, following his screen debut in “Son of Rambow,” which was quickly followed by a supporting role in “The Chronicles. from Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader ‘He has also played central roles in the franchises “Midsommar”, “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” and “The Maze Runner”.

His next project will see him play medical salesman Billy Cutler in the limited drama series “Dopesick”, which deals with the opioid addiction that swept the United States in the 1990s.

We were able to catch up with Will Poulter just days after his new role in the MCU was announced, and we couldn’t help but congratulate him on landing his biggest job yet. Here is how he responded:

Thank you. Yes, I am exceptionally lucky – even when you say it out loud, it makes me feel weird. I’m still in a sort of ‘pinch me’ phase. Because this is the MCU, I can’t say anything as you probably know, but I am very honored to join ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ which is a franchise that I consider to be one of the most unique and creative. . . I am very honored to have been included.

What kind of roles he prefers to play in, whether it’s cutting edge drama like “Dopesick” or straight-line comedy like when he rapped on TLC’s “Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls” in ” We’re The Millers, ” Poulter told us:

Do you know what, I was really lucky to do a bit of both. To be honest, I think my heart is a little more into the drama. I have a lot of fun doing comedy, but I like the challenge and the emotional tension of drama a bit more, strange as that sounds. ‘Dopesick’ was largely dramatic, and I really enjoyed it. But at the end of the day, good material, a constructive message, and top quality designs are the kind of things that always drive my decision. “

Will Poulter’s new “Dopesick” series launches on Disney + on Friday, November 12, also starring Michael Keaton, Rosario Dawson and Kaitlyn Dever. “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” hits theaters on May 5, 2023.
