After a successful release last January in Argentina by Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Max, Film Factory Entertainment is handling international sales on Christian Bernarda suspense movie Costs of a crime (echoes), reports Variety.
“The film revolves around Julian Lemar, an internationally acclaimed thriller writer under pressure from his publisher to complete the latest novel in his massively successful franchise, who goes on vacation with his family – his wife Valeria, his daughter Sofia and their baby child Santi – in a remote cabin deep in the woods.
“The very first night, a violent storm broke out, causing a power outage. Then a hysterical woman knocks on the door, announcing that her husband has just killed her baby and wants to kill her too.
“From this moment, for Julian, a hellish night begins in his quest to uncover the truth, his life and his family’s gaze at stake as the film mounts in tension and a sense of claustrophobia – physical, mental – sets in. builds, the first in a series of increasingly devastating plot twists.
Argentinian box office star to headline Diego Peretti (“The Heist of the Century”), the cast also includes Juliette Cardinali (“Card to Eva”), Carla Quevedo (“The Secret in Their Eyes”), Diego Cremonese (“Rojo”) and Carola Reyna (“Betibu”).
Note the site, after a theatrical release on January 27, echoes sold over 105,000 tickets, becoming Argentina’s biggest local box office hit since March 2020, the start of the COVID-19 quarantine.
