The Cinema Art Theater at the Rehoboth Beach Film Society will present two new films starting Friday, October 1.

“Falling for Figaro,” a romantic comedy by award-winning director Ben Lewin (“The Sessions”, “The Catcher Was a Spy”) takes place in the world of opera singing competitions. A bright young fund manager named Millie quits her job and leaves her longtime boyfriend to fulfill her dream of becoming an opera singer – in the Scottish Highlands. She begins taking classes with a famous but formidable former opera diva, then she meets Max, another student who is training for the same competition. The competition between Millie and Max gradually evolves into something different and deeper.

“In Balanchine’s Classroom” is an enlightening documentary that takes viewers back to the glory days of the New York ballet years of a revolutionary choreographer. Through memories of George Balanchine’s former dancers and their quest to realize a genius’ vision, this film will enlighten audiences on the man known as the father of American ballet.

Admission is $ 8 for members and $ 11 for non-members. Customers can find full listings of screening dates and times and purchase admission online at rehobothfilm.com. If seats are available, admission can be paid to the theater from 30 minutes before the screenings.
