Toray Plastics (America), Inc. announced that its Torayfan division’s new 8.7-meter five-ply in-line coated polypropylene film line with automated slitting has started producing commercial volumes of packaging films and labels. The personalized and exclusive equipment is considered by Toray to be one of the most successful BOPP film lines in the world.
This allows Toray to expand its flexible packaging product lines, including a robust label portfolio, and to manufacture next-generation, high-tech single-material laminates and films. The unique and energy efficient line also gives a boost to Toray’s sustainability initiative by further reducing the company’s carbon footprint. The additional capacity of the OPP is intended for packaging, labeling, medical and industrial applications.

Five years ago, Toray embarked on an ambitious strategic expansion.
