The ‘Home Alone’ house is now open for one night on Airbnb

Home Alone fans can finally make their dream of staying in the McCallisters’ iconic house come true this Christmas. The house that housed Kevin and his large family is now available on Airbnb for one night.

On December 12, four guests will be able to relive their favorite scenes from the ’90s movie. The house, located in the Chicago area of the United States, can be booked starting December 7 for $ 25.

Actor Macaulay Culkin took on the role of Kevin McCallister in the film. As his family leaves him behind during the Christmas holidays as they travel, it’s up to the 8-year-old to confront a couple of burglars with traps and pranks around the house.

Big brother Buzz McCallister, actor Devin Ratray, will be expecting guests at the Chicago home. Buzz calmed down and Airbnb quoted him as saying he had grown up.

“You might not remember me as being particularly easygoing,” says Buzz, “but I grew up and would be happy to share my family home – my pizza, even – with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, get lost this time. Other perks include meeting a real-life tarantula, watching Home Sweet Home Alone.

In Airbnb’s Instagram post, the house looks like the one seen in the movie. Laid out with twinkling lights and a set of perfectly pruned trees, it’s perfectly suited for the holiday season.

There are also traps, aftershave splash, and the ability to scream in the mirror. Chicago’s favorite 1990s pizza and a candlelit dinner of microwave-safe Kraft Macaroni and Cheese will also be on the menu.

This isn’t the first time Airbnb has offered rental packages inspired by pop culture. Earlier in November of this year, Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment in “Sex and the City” was open for the night. In 2019, Airbnb partnered with Mattel to create a Barbie “dream house”.
