Blackpink is coming to your area – in theaters!
YG Entertainment released a trailer today (July 14) for Blackpink’s upcoming documentary film as part of the girl group’s fifth anniversary, which they are calling “4 + 1 Project.”
The trailer shows footage of Blackpink’s tours and rehearsals, as well as members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa looking back on their journey since their debut in 2016 and have grown into one of the biggest girl groups in the world. . Each member can be heard saying something positive about their experiences. Lead singer Jennie said, “Performing on stage is one of the best parts.” Meanwhile, singer Rosé shared, “I really tried to put my heart and soul into it.”
Jisoo, another singer, remarked on how the best it was when they got together. “I think we shine the most when the four of us get together and challenge new things,” she said.
The documentary film is expected to reveal exclusive and intimate characteristics such as “The Room of Memories”, drawing inspiration from their last five years; “Beauty” photo sessions for each member; and exclusive interviews for their fans.
Blackpink debuted on August 8, 2016 with their single album Square One, which included the tracks “Whistle” and “Boombayah”. The latter became the group’s first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Global digital song sales table. In 2020, their first single “How You Like That”, from the group’s debut album The album, won the song of the summer at the VMAs. The album debuted at No. 2 in the United States Billboard 200 and became one of the biggest albums of the year.
As Blackpink as a group reached the music charts, some of its members engaged in solo work. Jennie made her solo debut with “Solo” in 2018, and Rosé became the first artist to reach number 1 on the Billboard Global 200 as a soloist with his single album R, which was released last March.
YG Entertainment has confirmed that Lisa is the next member to make their solo debut, which is due out later this summer. The music video for her new song is shot this week, by Soompi.
Based on the look of the film and the group’s current plans, Blackpink will continue to evolve in his career. “I want to thank you for always supporting me,” Lisa says in the trailer across id in tears of joy, thanking their dedicated Blinks.
