Sword Art Online Progressive teases US release date

Sword Art Online Progressive teases more info on the US release date for its Air of a starless night the film is on its way! Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld ended the anime some time ago, and while that will be the end of all-new adventures for the series for now, it won’t be the end of this franchise’s anime releases. A little after Underworld War finished its run, it was announced that Sword art online would be diversifying with a new film taking the Sword Art Online Progressive companion series from the original series creator Reki Kawahara.

At a special event held for the film as part of Aniplex Online Fest, it was confirmed that Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night would officially hit theaters in Japan in October. But while fans in Japan can check it out this fall, fans in other territories will have to wait a little longer. Fortunately, the official Twitter account of Sword Art OnlineThe US press release said information about the film’s North American release would be “available soon.”

Directed by Ayako Kawano for A-1 Pictures, Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night will star returning animated series character designer Kento Toya, returning Yasuyuki Kai as action director, and returning Yuki Kajiura to compose music for the new feature film. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Haruka Tomatsu are expected to return for the film as Kirito and Asuna respectively, and he will introduce a new character voiced by Inori Minase.

This project addresses the first arc of Sword Art Online Progressive, a companion series written by the original creator that shows what happened on the floors first explored by Kirito and Asuna during the Aincrad arc that was ignored during the events of the original series. As this is the spin-off’s third arc, it opens the door for more potential entries, but we’ll see soon whenever we finally get a US release date.
