The Fox Bay Cinema Grill in Whitefish Bay has sadly been closed since early fall 2020. But as they say in show business, the show must go on – and this weekend its matinee will have a new reservation: cool popsicles from Pete’s Pops, which will open a brand new pop shop at the cinema.

Located in the retro box office of the North Shore Cinema, 334 E. Silver Spring Dr., the new Pete’s Pops location will serve the local company’s signature sweet and frozen treats beginning Saturday, June 18, from noon to 7:30 p.m.

“Our favorite thing is finding underused, neglected, and surprising places to put a pop shop, and we think we’ve done it again.” wrote the post announcing the news on Pete’s Pops Facebook Page. “We’ve transformed a decorative mid-century box office at the Fox Bay Cinema into a pop showcase! Unfortunately, the theater is closed at the moment, but one of our goals is to promote this beautiful, old-school cinema with l hope that he too can be brought back to life.”

Russell Ave., West Allis at 1977 S. 71st St. and its factory in production 3809 W. Vliet St. Pete’s also has Sneaky Pete’s, its outdoor seasonal pop-up found at the Milwaukee Public Market.
