Jared Leto becomes a complete vampire in Vicious New Morbius preview

0

At the start of next year, Jared Leto is headlining Morbius, the next film in the universe of the adjacent film Spider-Man from Sony Pictures. And in a new Morbius Preview scene, Leto’s character Dr. Michael Morbius undergoes a surprising transformation into a living vampire. Like in the comics, Michael is desperately trying to cure his rare blood disease. Unfortunately, the cure can be much worse than the ailment.

In the preview, Michael and his fiancée, Martine Bancroft, are prisoners on a ship and in guard. Martine is also a doctor, but even she could not have foreseen that Michael’s treatment would rob him of his humanity. Michael’s transition from human to vampire seems extremely painful. But he has it easy on the guards after unleashing his fangs and claws. Workman’s mockup probably can’t cover these injuries.

What is the difference between a “living vampire” and a traditional member of the living dead? Michael Morbius is not vulnerable to the supernatural weaknesses of vampires. The crosses and holy water will therefore not have much impact on him. Sadly, Michael’s thirst for blood is all too real and it could cost him his humanity. To save his own life, Michael will have to come to terms with the idea of drinking blood in order to survive. And that means taking lives to extend one’s own existence.

Adria Arjona shares the role of Martine Bancroft, when she was a former Doctor Who star Matt Smith stars as Loxias Crown. In the movie, Loxias is Michael’s friend and they both share the same affliction of blood. However, Loxias is much more willing to cross moral lines in the search for a cure. This will set these friends on the path to a potentially deadly confrontation, in which only one of them can survive.

Michael’s new bloodlust will also attract very unwelcome attention from the FBI. Tyrese Gibson stars in the film as Simon Stroud, the FBI agent who leads the hunt to capture Michael. Although Simon has no powers of his own, he does possess some sort of mechanical weapon that can even harm this living vampire. Simon’s partner Alberto Rodriguez will be played by The daily show veteran Al Madrigal.

Jared Harris also stars in the film as Michael’s mentor, but Sony has not released Harris’ character name. Either way, this film’s most surprising co-star is Michael Keaton, who will reprise his role as Adrian Toomes / Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming. The implication of the appearance of Vulture is that Morbius takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But we don’t know how it will be linked Spider-Man: No Path Home or any future Venom movies.

Daniel Espinosa directed Morbius from a screenplay by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. It will hit theaters on January 28, 2022.
