Hip-hop artist Blxst and Bino Rideaux’s most recent collaboration is all the rage.

Los Angeles-based bands topped Spotify’s Hot Hits Philippines playlist for week two.

Their single “Movie”, released on Red Bull Records, is the couple’s first single from their album “Sixtape 2” due later in July.

Blxst (stylized spelling of “Blast”) and Bino Rideaux (stylized spelling of “Rider”) have been called “two of LA’s emerging talents.” Their single “Movie” is a laid back number that highlights the duo’s “penchant for instantly catchy melodies” and “smooth lyricism”. According to their press, the new single “also combines R&B and Hip Hop influences” from Blxst and Bino Rideaux which mainly give off a “West Coast sound that serves as the perfect soundtrack to kick off the summer season”.

Their new music video is a playful jab on the Los Angeles Hiphop scene, in the “All Washed Up Car Wash”.

In particular, Blxst has received high praise from music stores such as BET, Billboard, Pitchfork, and others. Blxst’s debut EP “No Love Lost” featured collaborations with Ty Dolla $ ign, Tyga, Dom Kennedy and Bino Rideaux.

The EP’s hit single “Overrated” was instrumental in bringing Blxst to over 180 million streams worldwide. Blxst’s streaming numbers in the Philippines increased when TikToker Jane Oineza used the former track’s “Got It All” on the popular short video app.

A previously released single titled “Chosen” which features Tyga and Ty Dolla $ ign, has also made its mark on Spotify, particularly topping the Hot Hits Philippines playlist as well as trending on TikTok among Pinoy users.

Rapper, singer, writer and producer, Blxst has been active since 2015 and has built itself as a multi-hyphen. His skills also extend to music production which includes mixing and mastering. He has collaborated with Kendrick Lamar and a long list of musical artists.
