A star-studded cast is being assembled for The fell guy, which Universal is making based on the acclaimed 1980s TV adventure series. “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. The film is directed by David Leitch, who recently won acclaim for his work on High-speed train. The screenwriter will be Drew Pearce.
Unlike the original show which starred Lee Majors, the new movie will focus on a scruffy stuntman, played by Gosling, who makes a new movie with a star he once dubbed for but is now gone. Taylor-Johnson will play this star, and Blunt will play a makeup artist who once had an affair with the stuntman.
Taylor-Johnson last played against Brad Pitt in High-speed train; he also recently appeared in Christopher Nolan Principle and Matthew Vaughn The king’s man. The actor’s next film will be the title role in Sony’s Kraven the con artistbased on a Spider-Man villain, which will be released in October 2023.
Ryan Gosling earned two Best Actor Oscar nominations, one for Half Nelson (2006) and the other for The Earth (2016). He also appeared in films such as First Man, The Big Short, Blade Runner 2049and Mad. Stupid love.
Emily Blunt’s film credits include sci-fi releases The Adjustment Bureau, Looper and edge of tomorrowas well as musicals In the woods and Mary Poppins Returns. She has also appeared in a number of crime and adventure films, including Sicario, the train girl, a quiet placeand Jungle Cruise. She should appear in Christopher Nolan Oppenheimer and in David Yates’ Netflix drama, Adventurers of Pain.
Hsu, who recently played Michelle Yeoh’s rebellious daughter in Everything everywhere all at onceplays the role of the star’s assistant in The fell guy. She had also appeared in Amazon The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, winning herself and the cast a 2020 SAG Award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series. She also has a starring role in an untitled Adele Lim comedy being made for Lionsgate and will appear in Disney+. Chinese born American.
The fell guy is slated for release in March 2024.
