Chup and Dhokha Box Office Collection Day 2 (Early Trends): Sunny’s Movie Stable, Maddy’s Down!

Two Bollywood films clashed at the box office on Friday, the revenge thriller “Chup: The Artist’s Revenge” and the crime thriller “Dhokha: Round d corner” both aimed at the class audience.

While R. Madhavan’s star Dhokha filled up on Day 1 himself, Sunny Deol-Dulquer Salmaan’s star Chup witnessed great busyness. Dhokha opened to mixed reviews while Chup received mostly positive responses from critics.

Early Booking Report Day 2

Chup sold over 2.43 L of tickets on opening day, due to cheap ticket prices due to National Movie Day. As tickets will be sold at normal prices from Saturday, this will also affect his advance bookings.

The normal ticket price affected the advance bookings on Day 2 as the revenge thriller sold over 15,800 tickets in total worth Rs 38L. advances for Maddy’s film are negligible on the second day.

Box Office Collection Day 2

Chup is off to a good start at the box office as it hit Rs 2.85 crore on its first day while Kooki Gulati-led Dhokha only registered Rs 1.25 crores. If it hadn’t been for National Movie Day, the aforementioned figures would have been their first collections of the weekend.

That said, it looks like Maddy’s movie will have to deal with losses, on the other hand, Chup has to maintain that strong start on Saturday and Sunday to make a 5 crore over weekend. Following preliminary reports, it looks like Chup will collect Rs 1 Cr on day 2 to take his total collections to Rs 3.8 crores. From its performances, Dhokha is a flop affair and will soon be pulled from theaters, soon making a living under 5 crores.

Apart from that, a Nepalese film titled Prem Geet 3 which locked horns with the said films on Friday got off to a very strong start at the box office. Despite being released on limited screens, it’s heading towards breaking even here.
